How do I switch from forehead mode to ear mode?
It is simple: keep the outer probe cover clicked on to use forehead mode. Pull the cover off to reveal the tapered probe specifically designed for ear canal measurements.

Can I use the ear mode on a newborn?
Forehead mode is safe for newborns from day one. However, it is recommended to wait until the infant is at least 3 months old before using the ear canal mode, as their ear canals need to be sufficiently developed.

Why are there separate adult and child settings?
Because children have thinner skin and different baseline body temperatures compared to adults, the device uses distinct calibration algorithms to ensure clinical accuracy for each age group.
